View Full Version : Hydraulic Leak on Mini Z

I have hydraulic fluid leaking around the rear wheel. Figure it is the seal on the drive motor. Is this something that I can fix or need to take it in? I would like to do it myself but need some help.

i am not familiar with what your mower has as far as hydrolic system, but most wheel motors are a little complicated to work on. I am a little familiar with Parker Wheel Motors, and if you have no prior experience with hydrolics it can be a chore to service it properly. Chances are if it is a wheel motor and not a transaxle that the seal and/or shaft bearing has gone bad. Normaly anytime the seal goes it's gonna need the bearing also.
Before you do anything, jack it up, take off the rear wheels and presure wash it really good while not running. Then with the wheels still off, start it and bungy the controls to have both wheel hubs go forward for as long as it takes to show where the leak is. You may just have a leaky hoes fitting somewhere needing a new O-ring...less than $5 to fix and easy to manage, compared to the $70+ for a sealkit/Bearing for the wheel motor.
