i am going to hold onto my '08 f250 diesel to pull my big trailer for a little longer. I am needing a truck to pull a my spray trailer (200ga) and possibly another 200ga tank in the be down the road.

#1 gets my vote. Simple, reliable, costs less and a great work horse. Also more maneuverable.

i would definitely get rid of the 250 as soon as warranty expires. Ive got an 06 and it is a piece of garbage. I realize they are different, but have you ever seen what they have to do to change an injector on an 08-010 ? They have to pull the cab off the chassis and lift it in the air to get to injectors. Imagine labor costs after warranty. Google it, you'll see. They won't change them all just the one that is bad, even though they know they have a bad design. I was telling one of my clients about this over the summer in relation to his 2008 and THE NEXT DAY bam. In the shop, under warranty, $8100 claim. All kind of stuff went wrong, not just injectors. His wasn't the only one in the shop either. Save yourself some grief when that warranty is about to expire.

If you okay with the mpg in the Chevy I would say get that, dont expect more than 12-13 at best. It will be a very reliable truck. In my opinion Chevy has the best 3/4 ton gas engine.

I'd go with #1, the 6.0L vortec engines are great engines!

thats what i was leaning towards. i liked that the others were true four door but prob need to get away from diesel for this truck and the ext cab is plenty.

yah 80,000 miles. trying to get some dents fixed and sell it asap. i've heard all about the poor design. i would like to get another diesel though as i pull some heavy loads. i've heard the new ones are good and then of course the old 7.3 and 6.0's i believe?

so think i've decided on the chevy. went and looked at it. decent shape par small dings n dents everywhere that i'd be putting on anyway. has check engine light that is a knock sensor $50 part. is $8750 good price? he mentioned that was lowest price willing to go but it's been on CL for awhile and already lowered it once. was thinking $8250 and meet at $8500?

Are you sure that the check engine light is just a $50 sensor? The vortec's are pretty easy engines to get around and aren't that expensive to repair, but I would want to be sure that it is just a sensor and not something more.

Cash is always a good way to make a deal. When I sold my last truck, I had one guy come take a look at it, after going over it thoroughly, he made me an offer. With a little dealing, he got me down a couple hundred on the price since he had cash right then and there.
