Which has the better % return for you? I like to pass out fliers but with as much time as it takes direct mail would save me the man hours, however I'm not sure what percent of return to expect on either of them? Any help is appreciated, Thanks

Hi, Robin here :) I'd love to know what others in the industry think about this also. I do know that direct mail can certainly save you time and really get your name out there to a variety of prospects very quickly & it's also cost effective. At Adeas we offer direct mail services. We can provide the mailing list for you or use your customer database & this option is very popular with our customers. If you choose to try out that advertising method please consider us. We're a family owned business who's dedicated to our lawn care clients! The biggest thing that sets us apart though is that we can also take direct mail to the next level by offering Stick-It to the back of your ad. http://www.adeasprinting.com/?q=services

I've direct mailed for years. So far it's the best bang for my buck I can come up with. Flyers are only so so and take too much time.
You can expect .5% to 1% phone call response rate from direct mail and then you have to figure your own sales closure rate to get the new customer.
For me, if I get five or six new customers it pays for the mailer.

We do many types of advertising. The key to anything you do is going to be consistency. One or two times is not going to get it. It takes about 7 contacts for most advertising to work effectively.

The above information you received is good by other post. Generally about .5 to 1% return on flyers if everything else is right. A 2-3% return on direct mail will be pretty good if the other areas of marketing are right such as message, timing, call to action, benefits, demographics, etc.

We offer a marketing and advertising manual that goes into great detail about advertising and marketing. We also offer a CD that has over 35 templates available for you to customize and use right away. They are in Microsoft Word format. Check them out at www.profitsareus.com and go to our products page.

If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call at 800-845-0499 and let me put my 33 years of experience as a commercial landscape contractor to work for you.

When you guys do flyers, where do you put them? Because ive all ready been flagged by the USPS for putting it in the mailbox so i cant do that anymore or else I will pretty much be mowing all season to pay my fines for that.

Flyers and door hangers have to go on the doors, no way around it. I sometimes wish I could go back to getting away with my first ever flyer when I was 16 and being able to stick them in mailboxes and play dumb when the mailman calls me, but I cant.

Is putting flyers ON mailboxes or in paper boxes the same as putting them IN mailboxes?

No. Stick them behind the flags and you will be fine.

No. Stick them behind the flags and you will be fine.

My understanding is that technically you can not use any portion of the mailbox or post. Usually nobody will say anything if you don't place it in the box.
