I have had a manufacting plant call me today and ask to give them a price on maintain their grass. Cut it every 10 days. Just basic cut and trim, it is all straight fields.

I am looking at purchasing a new mower so this just may be my excuse.

Any ideas of how I should go about bidding this? I have never done a property of this size.

How big is it? Did you measure it?

No sir, I have not. If I had to guess it is probably roughly 12 acres of grass.

It's actually about 9.5 acres of mowable property and about 14 acres all together, give er take. For jobs that dont require a lot of trimming or blowing, bid by the acre. Jobs like this can eat away your profits if you have to cut it more then once.

I'm sorry but I don't do the bidding work for others. You said you didn't measure the property AND you're guessing on the size. If you aren't sure how to bid the property, maybe you should pass on it.

I agree, a lawn like this can be a death trap for the inexperienced or someone with the lack of equipment.
