I'm currently looking for a general labor for my company this summer, full time work.

What is a fair wage to give? I'm looking for someone around 17-21 years old, the min wage here is 10.25$, I'm looking to give him around 12-13$ an hour, 40 hours a week.

Does that sound reasonable or am I am to cheap? If you were around 17-21 years old and had no job, would you considered this a "decent" salary ?

Seems all the kids want to be paid 18$ an hour with no experience, then they complain how hard it is to work outside all day long in the sun.

Thanks.

Your so far north that your south of the border help isn't worth a damn. My two crew members get $11 an hour plus OT.

Do you not have age discrimination laws?

Try Job Bank. Some landscape company placed an ad but put .com instead of .ca in 3 days I had 150 job appls. sent to me. Most of them were willing to work for minimum wage so if this helps. I could of opened a Canadian branch with all the new help.
