I just purchased a toro z500 60" with bagger I was wondering what blades would do the best for bagging? high lifts, gators, or something else?

I never had any luck using mulching blades when bagging. I bag a out 90% of my lawns and only use high lift blades.

I have always been told highlifts.. but Ive always bagged with gators and never had a problem.. I actually think it packs it a little tighter and you end up bagging a little less.. Ive only bagged with a clamshell on w/b's though.. Imagine a ztrr would be the same.. Sometimes if the lawns arnt really big Ill doubble cut and bag the second time it makes it look really really nice and you end up collecting like 3/4 less the amount of grass

Rightly so, I get about 2.5' of discharge with mulches and about 6-8' with hi lifts.

I used highlifts on my JD for fallclean up last year and they worked great. I know a few guys that swear by Gators though because of thier ability to chop the grass and leaves up. Highlifts clean up better but in MY opinion gators would be better to chop it up and fit more in the bagger.

I used Gator blades last year and never had a problem with bagging, I seemed to actually prefer my gator blades more because they chopped up the clippings much finer and i ccould hold more in my baggers that way.
