Jrco. Much faster and does plenty by making a few passes.

jrco. vac as you go with the mower. I have not heard great things about the jrco aerator.

thank you.
when I look at other landscapers doing dethatching or aerating,I always see them with the small walk behind machine. But alot of people on this website seem to love the Jrco system.
are the detahtching and aeration quality better with them.

Jrco on all but lawns that have never been thatched. For my regular accounts or ones that have been done in the past few years, I go with my jrco tine rake. In 2 or 3 passes it gets everything out. On lawns that have never been done, I usually end up using a power rake. I have found the power rake to be faster and it does a better job in these cases. If anything was over 1 acre I wouldnt go near it with a power rake though.

As far as aerators, I would go with a walkbehind model that has a drum in the front. I have found these to be the easiest to use. Ryan and turfco are the ones I have used but classen also makes a few with drums. I havent heard the greatest things about the jrco aerator.
