I am looking for some help on leveling out my 52" Exmark Lazer Z Ultracut deck. I have tried everything to level it according to the instructions and it still will not level. I know all about the procedure. Lower deck down to 1.5" and put 3/4" block wood under wheel guides. The problem I am having is I cannot get the chains tight. I am out of room on everything. I have provided pictures of how it is set up right now so you can see and maybe someone can give me some insight. The deck is sitting about 1/2" lower than what the deck height says it should be.

Not sure I understand you, but the the numbers tell you the cut height not where the bottom of the deck is.

One of my lazers had an issue in 2003 and the deck was constantly out. We took it to our dealer several times and they did something very stupid. My new dealer took the time in the parking lot when I went to him and he knew the measurements and instantly knew something was wrong. What happened is the rear hanger was actually defective and one side bent like 2 inches in the first 275 hours. Now the first dealer obviously knew this but rather then putting this repair in which was under warranty they actually cut a link out of one chain. So I got to buy a new chain but the entire rest of the repair was covered when my replacement dealer did the repair.

If your doing everything right and it still seems off then perhaps something else on the mower is off. I had one of the threaded rods that support the springs that hold the deck up snap last year. And the mower was making a scalp for 2 days prior and couldn't figure out why turns out the rod was bending on its way to snapping and thus that side hung down just a little lower then normal and that was what I was seeing.

Well that is not what it is all about. I am saying even when I am doing it according to instructions I cannot get the chains tights as they are suppose to be

Thanks for the info. I had possibly thought something else could be bent but I just had not seen anything. Ill look into it more throughly. I had actually thought about cutting links out of the chain too. I talked to the dealer and they basically just said it normally takes like an hour to level decks. Which costs like $60. I didnt really want to spend that much money for that. The deck cuts level right now from what I can see. I just wanted to get it leveled right according to the directions.
