Lawn mowing techniques?

Could be a stupid question but we do everything but lawn maintenance until this year. We are doing lawn mowing and have a decent amounts of clients for the spring. All yards are over an acre. When you are about to cut a lawn is there a spot better to start than others left to right back to front. Ive cut grass all my life on a ride on mower but wasnt ever striping lawns.

Yes, different direction every week I possible.

I have heard this due to same direction can cause ruts
