View Full Version : Result from Wheat Straw

Used wheat straw last fall after aeration and overseeding. The area with what I believe may be MEADOW FESCUE is where the straw was mostly used.
It wouldn't be so bad but it grows faster than everything else.
Any ideas on getting rid of it?

No personal experience. But wheat is tall and an annual. It should be gone after a couple mowings. I think.

I am having trouble uploading the photos.
just mow it a couple of times, should't be a problem.

Never used wheat straw in Pa. most is oat straw. It will sprout but never seemed a problem.

I've been told it is annual rye, no treatment, it will die off on its own and may come back next year

Yeah, it's definitely an annual...looks like crap for a while, but it won't last
