View Full Version : Determining value of a used mower?

Does anyone know of a source where you could determine the value of a used mower? Kind of like a Kelly blue book for mowers. The mower I am wanting to sell is a '08 Hustler super Z 25/54 with a 1-year old bac vac collection system. 800 hrs on mower.

Ck ebay or craigslist. Use searchtempest.com as a sounding board. If you have a contact at a dealer I'd check with someone there. My rule of thumb is putting myself in the buyers place. No one is going to consider paying too close to new price. If they have that kind of $s they'll step up and buy new. I sold a 2001 60" SZ with the Honda 24 hp and just under 1000 hrs with all maintenance up to speed four used sets of blades, suspension seat, striper kit, hitch, and an aftermarket shoot blocker for $6700.00, but I wasn't in a hurry to sell it. It also cosmetically looked very good. The equivalent mower new could cost as much as $12900.00 if you didn't shop hard. So to a buyer it was almost half off. Yours is smaller, but newer and the bagger isn't cheap. Good luck.

When did you sell your mower, recently? Thanks for the input.

Last fall. I sold it in Oct. with the agreement that I could finish out the season if I kept their yard mowed during that short time. I delivered it to them fully serviced beginning of Dec.

I do the same as mtmower. Use ebay, etc. as a reference, then think about what YOU would pay for it from someone else.

I use Ebay, I look at the condition/hours/blades/oil.
