yup, the spindles suck arse. Replaced one at 500 hours (maybe both? I forget), now another bit the dust at 1000 hrs so I'm having both replaced for about 400-500 bucks. Sonofabitch I say. But I still love the stander. I hear you can get Scag spindles to replace as well.. I used to use JD walks that spindles were greased and after 1000s of hrs had 0 problemos. :hammerhead: is what I want to do to spindle maker of Wright.

Ok, Not to make anyone angry, but I would like to know, do these spindles have grease zerks on them or are they the stupid Exmark sealed bearing type? If they are greasable, did you guys grease them?

yes ,they are sealed

Pull the seals and make them greasable. I had the same problem with my Hustler S/Z, 200-500 hours and the bearings were shot. Once I pulled the seals and started greasing them, no more problems.

That is one solution. Another one is pull the inside dust cover and drill hole in spindle housing for grease zert. Or go get some real bearings...timken they run about $45 for each side. I am replacing two sets with timken right now.
