Here in Panama we have a Shindaiwa dealer, the web site shows only the t239xr and the t270. I imagine the price to be $600-$700. He sells echo 225 for $450. We also have Stihl dealer for example fs-45 for $450. I am reluctant to Stihl as only HP oil (lowest grade) is sold here. I see fs-85 on the web site, don't know if they sell it, never answer phone. All only come with 6 month guaranty. Yes crazy prices.
My question is t-270, fs-85 or Echo SRM-266, $500 shipped to Panama from US. I currently run SRM-265, but it is developing problems. Thanks, Dennis

Shindaiwa T270 is legendary, they don't sell it here anymore. It is big and on the heavy side, but it is bullet proved. If you can still get it, by all means. Shindaiwa trimmers has been going down hill since, so think twice before getting the new models.

If you can still find the Shindaiwa T260, that is a good one also.

Stihl FS80 or FS85 have just a strong a reputation as the Shindaiwa T270. They use 2 cycle engine and don't need special oil like the 4Mix engines. You'll be fine using the HP oil.

These trimmers are wet dreams for a lot of people in the State here.
