That's a fairly old recycler.

Yeah, that's not a Super Recycler.

You can always tell if you look closely for the word "Super". (It's usually located right before the word "Recycler")

BTW, I use a Super Recycler and I am pretty happy with it.

I have that same model mower, bought it new in 98 and it is still going strong. Never needed anything other than a cable. It mulches good but the newer recyclers and super recyclers mulch better. They come with a mulching blade that looks like a gator blade. You can probably get one for it though. The major difference between the super recyclers and the recyclers is that the Super recyclers come with an aluminum deck. $65 isn't bad but I would wait and buy a better and newer one.

No, that is a Toro recycler only.
Like someone else said look for something newer 2007-2012 super recycler.

Not a SR4.

At any rate looks like the brand new SR4's are using Chinese engines instead of the Briggs.
Bad move by Toro.

ACK! Seriously?

I used an SR4 (that I bought new) all last season and have been very happy with it.

Yes, I think DA is right. Some of the new SR4's might in fact have a chinese made engine. If you go to the Toro website you will see that most of the SR4's have either a Honda or Briggs engine but 2 or 3 models have a "Toro" engine. Those are most likely chinese made and labeled as Toro.

Toro still offers a Honda, Briggs or KOHLER on 3 of their 21" HO mowers.

Which I believe are good engine choices.
