I pay 2.50 a bale and charge $5 delivered and installed. That is a little high for my area. I know guys are putting it down for less. Probably around $4 a bale.

I don't want to mess with it for any less than that. Everyone says there is no money in straw. If I can't make money doing it, why bother?

Whatever I pay for the straw I double it.

6.00 per bale. Anything less is not worth the time.

One other question? measuring for mulch is easy, but what about pine straw?

I use this calculator.

Most guys charge $1 per bale to spread on top of the cost of a bale. Not big money. I usually call one of the pinestraw guys in the classified and send them to do the job and hopefully get a cut for me. If not at least my customer is happy.

Charge 2.5 time the cost of materials should cover
pine straw delivery and application
:)
