What is the most effective way of removing excess clippings from hedge trimming. The two methods I know of are laying down tarp or raking pine straw or mulch back. What is the best and most efficient way?

The most efficient way is to trim at constant intervals so growth is minimal in between trimmings. If you have mulch, then the small trimmings can be blown under the bush or raked in. If you have pine needles, light blowing can will allow trimmings to fall into needles. If it is a one time deal, the best option is to upsell the customer on ground covering (mulch, needles, ect.) You can then trim the bushes/hedges, rake up large twigs/branches, and apply new ground covering. The next best option is a heavy tarp or thick blanket to catch the trimmings. Be sure to shake, blow out, or rake out the bush or hedge before you remove the tarp or blanket. Hope that helps
