Patio next to a lake?

I am looking to do a 16 by 16 foot patio with a fire ring. I know how to do that but I have never done a patio next to water. It will still be about 4 feet away from the bolder and steel sea wall. Do i just install it like I normaly would? or extra base? different base? I normaly do about 5in depth of half 21AA and the other half slag. Please help me out. I am going to do 4x8 bricks in a running bound. thank you

you might want to check what your local code enforcement office has to say about it.

Yup check with your code enforcement office. Shore line protection act... You will most likely have to make the patio a permeable paver patio. But if your good to go, then yea build it the same as you normally would, but I would highly recommend putting a layer of geo-fabric under your base material.
