Anybody have ideas about lighting this cupola on the inside? I'm just looking for a soft glow. Thanks.

Hi Phil. I do these all the time. Take one 120V "keyless" lamp base with a 50W PAR20 Halogen lamp in it. mount it on the bottom of the inside of the cupola shining up into the hat of the cupola. The light bounces around and radiates out softly and no visible glare.

I would do the same as james but maybe use a newer warm white LED flood light bulb to minimize bulb changes. the local walmart here has one I just installed at my shop that is 10 watts and 650 lumens, 20 bucks. 25000 hours to L70. 2700k. probably puts out what a similar 50 watt flood halogen. and is acutally rated for outdoor use.

David, Same base as typical 120v bulb? That wasn't my house in the photo of the cupola but my cupola will be exactly the same. Agreed,
I would want a long-lasting bulb or LED.

yes. standard edison base. I am testing 4 at my shop now as outdoor floodlights. very nice color. probably about a 45 degree flood. they got them at my local walmart a few weeks ago. they actually put out almost the same amont of light out to the ground as a 1200 lumen 26 watt fluorescent flood.
