This is a group of 3 hydrangeas planted from a nursery in this past March. They recently started having curled and brown leaf edges.

Disease? Heat?

What's the cure? I'm a lawn guy and not real familiar with plants.

That looks like fertilizer burn.

thanks Doc. They are on the edge of a bed and I've been fertilizing my lawn. Maybe too much got to the plant. Any remedies or time will tell? They have some new growth and blooms showing up as you see from the picture.

Could it be too much sun or heat? We have been warm and humid lately and they are in direct sun most of the afternoon.

I've got a few hydrangeas in full sun. It's not ideal for them, but they can live.
You just may have to water them every day though (or you can possibly get away with every other day).
You should be able to see them get droopy when they want water, and they perk up within hours of watering, if that's the issue.
A little droopy in a hot afternoon is to be expected, but if they're still droopy in the morning, you're not watering frequently enough.
