what type of block do you guys prefer when building retaining walls? we have a great supplier in my area that deals with versa-lok...i know there are others out there like allan block but i'm curious as to what some of you guys that do this every day use? and certain types of patterns? mosaic from versa-lok with the weathered block is one of my favorites...

a lot of it has to do with what part of the country youre in. I use Cambridge, I'm pretty sure theyre only on the east coast

Yeah that's very true...even versa-lok being a nationwide company sells different colors throughout the nation...I got a catalogue from the company that sells VL in in town and liked a certain color of block they had on the cover but they don't offer that one here, don't quite understand but whatever...are most walls built with a "system" like VL with the pins or do most just use standard block with adhesive?

Cambridge? You mean the paver manufacturer with the owner doing the commercials who's voice sounds like a Mafia king pin?

Not really. Cambridge tried to break into this area, but never really got off the ground.
