Backpack sprayers

So, piston pumps aren't good with wettable powders. What are they good for? And what's up with the Echo that has a piston/diaphram pump? I've used wettable powders in a B&G stainless pump sprayer for years. They needed parts replaced occasionally like O-rings and plunger cups. Is that about like the backpacks? We need a FAQ page for stuff like this, I think.

I use diaphram pump sprayers they will work for wettable powders and others. Not sure about a piston/diaphram.

I spent last night reading ALL the searched threads on here about "backpack sprayers", associated links and also did a google search. I have some very good information and it seems that piston pumps are more powerful but, I still haven't found out the reason for the hybrid models.
