Hey guys, I want to give a guy who owns a shopping center an estimate. He wants 40 boxwoods planted. My total cost after labor and everything would be around 1500. How much would you guys quote him at I was thinking about $2500. Do you think thats reasonable?? Thank you, all advice is appreciated.

If you are offering him any kind of warranty on the plants, make sure you add that into the price.

How much extra do you usually charge on warranty? Does it vary on the job?

How many gallon containers are the boxwoods? Or are the B&B?

Your estimate sounds about right, depending on the conditions. Hopefully you aren't digging through rock... commercial sites can have crappy soil. I have a mini skid with an auger so I'd use that if you can get one to speed things up.

$25 a tree? That's it?

The cost you need to add in for warranty, depends on the cost of the shrubs.

Don't forget about watering for a month too.

That and is there rock beds or mulch beds? If there is nothing, you need to figure out some sort of mulch so that they don't dry out quickly.
