View Full Version : Grassy Weed

Need help identifying a grassy weed, I was going to upload a pic but it would have did justice. The best way I can describe this weed is when you cut it with a mower "no matter how sharp your blades are" it just tears and looks like a piece of frayed rope after cuttting it. I've tried momentum q which covers a large range of weeds but not any luck. I took it to a fetilizer supplier the other day and the one guy tried telling me it was a ornimental grass. I've never heard of such thing. Any suggestions on a chemical that can take care of it are much appreciated.
Thank you
Mike Z.

Goose grass cuts OK.
However...many ornamental grass that are planted in large clumps in landscaping areas. They do not cut cleanly.

Goosegrass and Barnyardgrass in my area will dang near pull out of the ground before it cuts. Looks like you tried to cut it with a 9 iron.
