what is your best method of pricing or giving estimates.

for example I have a lady that wants 2 yards of mulch spread, weeds pulled, daylilys planted, and a brick border around the outside, I told her she would need to pay for all of the items and we would charge a separate labor charge. thoughts?

How do you do it?

We give a price that includes materials/labor. It includes my markup on materials. At contract signing/agreement, I require a deposit to cover atleast materials.

I do the same thing as Krayz, but are you wanting us to price it for you?

I mark the mulch up 4-6 times what i pay for it depending on the customer and that includes weeding, and edging. Then for the plants, i mark that up 2-4 times whatever i pay, also depending on the job and customer, then i put together a total and add tax and present it to the customer, maybe negiotate a little or take certain items out so they can stay within budget if they have one. And for the brick border i charge $8 a foot installed and that includes buying the brick or cobblestone. Good luck!
