Has anyone seen or heard anything about recycled tires being used as mulch ? If so where can I get info on it.

I remember a thread on it awhile ago, so I looked it up.
I believe this thread provides some info along with a link.

I think I remember hearing something that it was to be an alternative to playground mulch. But I can't imagine a bunch of kids crawling around or walking through it to get to a swing set or something else:dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:
search for crumb rubber and it should link you to several websites.
some mfgs. produce colored mulch, while others only make it in black.
usually it is bagged and comes on pallets and it is a large initial expense, however you don't have to replenish it every year or two like natural mulch.
the primary use for crumb rubber mulch was for playground use. studies showed that less injuries were found on playgrounds with rubber mulch over reg. mulch or grass, etc.

Saw brightly dyed rubber mulch @ MANTS yesterday for playground use. Also saw brightly colored 'play sand' to also be used as sweeping sand for pavers. I'm not endorsing any of this--just noting that it's available.
