i do some light welding mostly for our own repairs and or fab work and we have been all self taught so forgive me if it is a stupid question.
can you weld standard steel to ar500? i have a plate i use for target shooting that has two tabs for hanging it up and one of the tabs is broken which allows the plate to rotate when hit. instead of drilling a new hole (3/8" thick) i thought of welding a new softer steel that i can drill through.
I have a heavy stick welder and a smaller 120v mig, id like to use the mig for convenience but can use the stick welder if needed. remember, this is just for an 8" round plate nothing serious.
ar500 can be used on heavy equipment, in case a tie in for this forum is needed...
