For manual sod lifting we use a "whale tail" made by Ames - I think it's just called a sod lifter. Can't tell you about the one you posted. Looks a little cumbersome to chase around an area peeling up small amounts of sod.

I own one and they work good for small jobs. Average size patio or walkway. The bigger the guy running it the better. They are a lot of work. also bring along a flat file to tough up the blade as necessary.

I have one and it works well for small jobs as someone said earlier. It is one hell of a workout. I did 300 square feet once, and that is about the limit. If you have sandier soil, it works real well, hard clay or rocks really make it tough.
