My brother did me a favor a month ago and mowed my lawn with his new zero turn. I cut it consistently high, especially in the harsh summer, but he basically burned it out everywhere at the lowest setting on his mower.

Now I'm stuck with huge patches of no grass and the weeds and crab grass are flourishing.

What is the best approach to recover my lawn? Combination of seeding and fertilizer? What time of year, do I need to add soil?

Will the dead grass return next year?

It's an acre of land in town, so I have to be thrifty with costs, any suggestions?

(I live in Columbus, OH)

have you fertilized it much before?

I fertilized about a month or two before it was cut so low

The best approach may be to wait until after labor day, core aerated your yard, then overseed and fertilize. You will be amazed at the difference it will make!

the best approach is never let your bro on the lawn again!
