in june i picked up a condo that the other guy got fired from for poor work..he never edged the flower beds theres no cut edge..i have a 4 year contract with this place. i was thinking about edging this place in oct when we slow down a little its one less thing to do in the spring,its a good day for the three of us..thoughts on edging in the fall??i know i might have to clean them up in spring i bit..

Were you going to use a bed edger? Cutting a trench 3" deep or so? That'll last about 3 years here in Ohio, touching it up with a trimmer from time to time.

I work solo so I always spread the work out thru the year. My last customer to get mulch got done in late August! It'll be OK till next August.
Broadleaf control is done in the fall right after the first frost, before the first freeze. Next spring there'll be no weeds.
Core aeration, the main fertilizer application, topdressing etc. are all fall projects.

That leaves the only thing to get done in the spring is the pre-emergence/fertilizer application, and that's all done before the grass starts growing.

The LCO's with annual contracts can't really schedule in this manner.

Negative,You want a sharp edge in the spring. Over winter it will creep back into the beds.
