The unusually hot and dry summer killed a lot of grass, leaving dead thatch in patches. The lawn care company did a core aeration and over-seeded. I'm disappointed they didn't slit-seed because my experience has been that works better when "rehabbing". And they didn't de-thatch at all; I can't see how seed can establish itself when its dropped on top of a layer of dead grass. Any thoughts?
