I was browsing the GIE+EXPO web site and found this:

"Honda Power Equipment will introduce their 2013 redesigned line up of residential and commercial lawn mowers and engines at GIE+EXPO 2012."

Does anyone know or want to guess what fabulous new technology they'll announce? Maybe they'll follow the lead of shaver mfgrs and come out with a 3-blade system. :)

I am almost willing to bet the new HRC will have a Nexite deck instead of a steel one. Not that is a bad thing, the one on the HRX mowers holds up really well. It might just be an HRX with an upgraded drive, wheels and engine.

If they are an improvement over the old HRC216 I might pick one up. I am a sucker for commercial 21 inch mowers.

Same here, I wish I could have an ExMark, yBravo, HRC, and Toro proline for my "collection". But I can only justify and afford one at a time.

Even if the Honda changes are minor, it might be enough to prompt me to go get a new one.

Same here. I hope it is a more dramatic change though, Honda has had the same residential mowers out for about 10 years now, and the HRC216 has been around for 7 years.

I have yet to see the Ybravo around here, although I could order one if I had the money. We have snappers here thought, I might have to pick that one up despite my family's protests

Maybe someone from the forum who attends the show will post some info on updates. I don't know when Honda will update their website, or whether they'll point out what's changed when they do update.

I'd go to the show and find out for first-hand, but that would take up most of the budget for getting a new one.

Lol bought my Honda back in July. I wish the drive wheels were on the front rather than the rear. That's my only complaint with it.

You must have no sloping terrain.

You must have no sloping terrain.

You're correct! I'm still getting accustomed to it because my old ones were always front wheel drive. Thinking about your comment makes sense as to why it would be better suited in the rear for slopes.

I'll be anxiously awaiting any info or pictures, too. Doesn't look like mowing season will end any time soon in Dallas, so I won't be in the position of buying a shiny new machine and not having a use for it.

Eh never been a big fan of MTDs products, especially in recent years.

Gravely has announced a new commercial 21. That looks interesting, waiting for pictures of that one.

unfortunately, I didn't get many pictures.. to focused on all the cool new stuff! check out my overview over in the general mowing forum: http://www.lawnsite.com/showpost.php?p=4565939&postcount=19

one thing that I think you guys will really like is the Husqvarna AWD 21" mower. looked to be very well made, im not sure of a price point on that.

on the new Honda mower, my main concern is how small the opening to the bag looks to be. I could see that getting plugged up a lot in wet and heavy stuff, even with the "microcut" mumbo jumbo.

I found this:

Definitely the tame end of the scale.

Eh Not too impressed so far, just models with a new electric start. I was hoping for a new HRC, guess not.

I wouldn't mind that electric start on my HRC, even though they start in one pull.

Oh I think it would be cool to get the HRC with electric start. Unfortunately we did not..

I talked to a local Honda dealer today. All he could think of regarding new models was a different shroud to keep the engine cooler, and electric start on an HRR model (which is in the video link a few messages back). He said they'd be available sometime after the first of the year.

Electric start on HRC would definately be welcomed with open arms. Although not entirely necessary or needed, still would be a nice feature to have.

Why would you pay an additional couple hundred dollars for electric start? I have two Hondas that are two years old and still Start on the first crank. Doesn't look like they came out with anything new.

[QUOTE=RussellB;4571226]Why would you pay an additional couple hundred dollars for electric start? /QUOTE]

And why would people pay a thousand dollars a year to get their lawns mowed when they could do it themselves? Just be glad they do.
