I have been watching CL for months now & have seen used inserts going for $800-$2000. I'm now ready to purchase 1 on the low end of that price range. The lowest priced one currently on CL is $1500. Wanting to spend $800-$1000. Doesn't have to be pretty. Rust is OK but not full of big rust holes. The better the price, the further I'll drive from Canton, Oh.

I talked to a guy I know last weekend who hadn't used his insert all year & told me $800. I was busy with full time job & called him Fri with $800 in my pocket. He had put it on CL Wed for $900 & sold it Thurs. Wish he would have got ahold of me to see if I still wanted it. I thought I was gonna have dump insert this weekend for cleanups.

Gonna be tough to find one that low $$$, but good luck. I've been looking for one for one too. Have you tried Terry's to see if he knows anyone?

If you're gonna buy a dump insert, save up and by an aluminum dump from truck craft. Their like 5 grand brand new but they last a lot longer then those steel inserts.

Build sides on your trailer then put a railroad tie at the front of your trailer. attach a chain to each side and run em the length of your trailer. load the trailer then back into a tree and tie the two chains around the tree and pull forword. need a picture?

I use my trailer for equip, debris goes in bed of truck. Also don't wanna be diggin rr tie/pallet & chains out of debris pile. Plus I dump at 1 of my suppliers yards & there is nothing to chain to by grass/leaf dump area.

Missed out on another deal. Guy was selling one for $600 with rebuilt pump (last year) but misplaced the mounting hardware & controler. Talked to him Sun night but my truck was full of debris, so told him I'd call him back after I priced parts ($225) Mon morning. Called him abt 8:30am & left message, with no return call. Ad was off craigslist couple hours later.

Bump. Willing to drive 3hrs (6hr round trip) from Canton, OH for $1000 deal! Will also entertain offers on one that may need rust hole repair if the price is right for the drive required.

I'm not sure what kind of shape this one is in but the guy seems like he's willing to negotiate on it, and it's less than 2 hours away.http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/grd/3373232715.html

Lol! I emailed that guy this morning and offered $600, before I bumped my lawn site to thread. Not the greatest pic to show rust holes he speaks of, But thanks for posting in case I missed it.

I understand unfortunately it's at body shop and insurance company is waiting for the total estimate. I'm pretty sure they are going to ditch it. But probably won't find out for a cpl days.. I'll let you know if you bought one before I understand I'll just throw it on my new truck

K, thanks! I passed on the rusted insert in PA. I'm going to look at a local insert tomorrow, like new asking $1500 OBO. The guy called me cuz of my ad on CL, "WTB dump insert" & my ad states my budget is $1000. Hope he takes $1K. I will probably go $1100 if he won't do $1K. Since he is local & I will be saving fuel in my "HEMI" not driving a couple hours to purchase $1000 insert elsewhere!

If I make purchase I will update this thread so I don't get other offers. If your Ins Co totals your truck & I have not made update about a purchase, let me know your sellin it.

Thanks
Chris

Well...bought the EZ Dumper (from a plumber)! Barely used, all the paint is still in the bed some minor rust spots on outside of the bed. I offered him $1K & he said $1200. I countered with $1100 & he said he had to get at least $1200. Couldn't pass it up, so I paid him $1200!

I plan on wiring & mounting tomorrow after work & side boards built before the weekend.
