Just out of curiosity for bluegrass what do you guys do for over seeding. For example a 20# bag can cover x amount of sq feet when overseeding a yard?
Let me know i don't need the well it depends on the yard and this and that just on average what do you guys do.

7 or so pounds per thousand sq ft. This is a typical result.

This lawn would look the same as the surrounding lawns without the overseeding.

Lawn looks good.

How do you apply seed?

Spreader directly on to the lawn?

Slit seeder?

Aerate then spread seed down?

Aerate and then broadcast. That is a 50-50 mix of Annual Rye and KBG.

What are you trying to accomplish by overseeding? Some winter color or strengthen your Burmuda?

Want to thicken my Bermuda up. Already got Scott's spraying it. Should I let it thicken up on its own

You can overseed it in the spring. I'd have to lookup the overseeding rate for Bermuda but it's way less than other types of grass. Make sure no one puts pre-em on the lawn in the spring.

Keep it cut at proper height and keep it fertilized. Bermuda will spread and thicken up on its own. If you have bare spots you can plug from thicker areas of your lawn. Seed rate is 1-2 lbs per 1000 for Bermuda I think

Golden rule for us is half the rate that you would use if you were seeding a new lawn. Tall fescue rate is 8-10 lbs per 1000 sq ft. So overseeding would be 4-5 lbs per1000.
