How many LCO's would you guys say there are on average in a city of about 110,000 people. I would like to keep it limited to legitimate licensed businesses please! Thanks!

Our city has about 90,000 residents and, if memory serves me, about 90 pro lawn services. The number of non pro is about the same. If you figure 2 people per household, about 33%+- are in apartments, that leaves about 165 potential customers per lawn service.

You have to get hooked up in this city to make any kind of money doing lawn servicing. Right now I am the "go to guy" for 2 businesses. One is the largest tree service in the county and the other is a high end home improvement contractor. When either of those companies encounters a customer that needs landscaping done I get the call first.

here in valdosta, ga and the surrounding areas I would say we have around 200-250 lcc's. lots of competition around here. lots of lowballers. yet, business is GREAT because during grow season, grass grows 5 inches a week down here. I have five accounts that require lawn care twice a week!

In FL I would guess it would be about 105,000 landscapers per 110,000 people. I have one street that I had to change day of service because I couldn't find a place to park with all the others on that day. I say there were about 20 different LCO's on that short street. Maybe 40 houses total.

I think we have 1000 paying tax and would guess 9000 working for cash. City is 1 million. The 1000 paying tax will start going down soon. Sp not a very good business opportunity if that is the queston.

In spring theres generally 5 lcos per house, by the end of summer it drops down to 2.
