I ordered a new mini last week. I looked at the CAT 305.5 D and E and Deere 60D.

http://www.takeuchi-us.com/www/docs/123/tb153fr-zero-swing-excavator

It will have a 24" WB bucket and coupler and it looks like HPF prolink thumb.

Very nice!! What did you think of the 305.5 d? Friend of mine has one and its a lot more stable then my 305ccr..

I liked the D. The breakout was excellent. It was a PINTA getting in and out of compared to the TK as was the Deere. I liked the CAT though. It was $8K more. I just like the TK for what it can do. My only issue with the TB153FR is all the zerks and moving parts. I have not had any issues but there is a lot more wear opportunities than a typical swing boom. I plan on putting a mower on it and TK finally addressed the low gpm issues that have plagued their mini excavators. That was the reason for the update. I have 2300 hours on my TK. I would have liked to haver kept it another 18 months. I got a decent trade value and a good purchase price on the new one.

Shane that's awesome! Do you use your mini more than your 160? I was waiting to see you update your 160 but guess the mini gets it first. :) You order the thumb from the factory or is it already on the machine? Can't wait to see pics of it.

Ya the TK is on almost everything we do it seems. I wanted an HPF on the last one but I think it will finally happen on this machine. We are ordering it from the factory and installed here. I am going to wait to see what happens this Spring for work and then work on replacing the 9020B.

good luck with that setup. I am excited to see what it can do for you as a mower. Make sure you get some pics in the spring!

Very cool. How did HPF compare price wise with PSM? Austin (minimax) apparently has a new 35D and he put a pro-link PSM thumb on this time. Glad business is treating you well.

Congrats . Nice machine you will be happy with it . I demo'd the tB 153 liked the machineloved the diffrence in price but the nearest taki dealer is 3.5 hours could'nt chance it on the service if something were to go wrong . I went with the 305.5D love it no complaints yet. Good luck with your machine throw some pics up when you get it.

Looks good, Shane. 3, 53FR's must speak for themselves after a while.

Minimax did pony up to a new 35D with a PSM link thumb about a month ago, he sent me some pics and it looks pretty badass. Nice to have a thumb on a mini that follows 100% of the rotation. PSM or HPF, can't really go wrong with either.

I feel the force returning to normal... :)

Why didn't you use the WB coupler/buckets this time?

My bad, it was the thumb that was a different brand...:o

The thumb situation came out like this. I like the ruggedness of the WB thumb, however it does not have the range of motion that PSM or HPF have. Both of these offer a prolink version, WB does not. So I contacted HPF and PSM. The PSM looks a little better on the website but its about 2K over the HPF and the HPF is $2.2K over the WB. I could not believe it but the PSM thumb for a 55 sized machine costs 7K retail plus shipping. I could not stop the words "you have to be FN kidding me" from flowing out. So it will be the HPF thumb and WB 24" bucket and manual coupler. I would like to see WB be competetive with a more current thumb design, I like their stuff but its all about capability and both the PSM and HPF are far more capable (granted both are more money).

I think CAT is getting a little frustrated with me.

They don't seem to throw you crazy good deals so it would make it easier to switch? Or do they 'think' they are?

That is crazy for the thumb price on a small machine!

When do you expect things to come in? Too bad about the PSM thumb. I love it.

The excavator is here. They just ordered the WB stuff and HPF and the dealer are still working some mechanics out to build the thumb. It might be a while before I see the thumb.

I will do that. The WB stuff is in, as is the Rockhound 30 HD excavator mower. Still waiting on the HPF thumb. I became a dealer for Rockhound, so if anyone needs anything that they make, I can have it drop shipped anywhere.

Congrats on becoming a dealer! I think Rockhound is a good brand.
Good luck with the new mini.

Shane, where are the pictures?:nono:

On your 153, did you have the second hydraulic function as an option? Sounds like it is crazy spendy to do it on the Kobelco 55.
