Whats say you guys about 01-04 dakotas? 4.7-5.9's. They seem to be priced pretty high of the years I mentioned. I found one that was super clean.Turns out, it was in a wreak out west. They wanted 9,600 for a 01 quad cab with 83k on the clock.

I have a 03 bought it with 100k on it fully loaded for 9800. I love it but gets the same mpgs as a half ton.

Ya what dstifel said I had an 01 4.7L 4x4 and my 1500 5.7L gets 1/2mile mpg better than the Dakota did. Mine did pretty good pulling 14' trailer but it sure pulls alot nicer behind the 1500

I had 01 Dakota with the 4.7. I bought it with 20k on it and I sold it with 180k. It towed an enclosed around for the 6 years I had it. Only thing major I had to do was the rear end. I wish I never sold it

I'm not really sure but I do know that my tranny cooler is bolted on right in front of my radiator so could check there its on like the bottom left corner on mine

Ok looked today had radiator then what looked to be a miniature radiator bolted in front of that. Should of taken a picture sorry but i would assume its for my tranny?

Ya it looks like miniature one. I'm pretty sure I have 2 small ones not remembering what other one was for possibly power steering? But I do know that my tranny one is bottom left like I said and if that's where yours is I would imagine they would keep it the same on Dakota. Could be wrong

It runs the full length of the radiator

I have heard to stay away from the 4.7 engine ck out some sources online most will tell you they have a sludge problem the ones I cked out at 100k they had to replace the engine .

dont know if it will help you much but i have an 05 with tranny cooler and the 4.7l and i pull 6,5x12 open landscape trailer closing in on 100,000 miles I also have a ram 1500 5.2l it has 135,000 i'd rather tow with the dakota because of manueverability gas mileage is about equal. my dad also owns an 02 dakota with the v6 motor and he tows one of my trailers during leaf season not sure the mileage he gets but does not have power to pull the trailer when its only loaded with leaves and a blower. they no longer make the dakota but will bring it back in a year or two but it will be on the same line as the honda ridgeline so my next vehicle will def be a full size truck
