I am just starting my lawn service, and was wondering what the standard height for mowing a yard was in Louisiana.
Thanks

We also have St. Augustine here in the Houston area. I usually cut it at 3" at the start and end of the season, but in the middle of summer I usually raise it closer to 4".

I wouldn't go lower than 2" on St. Augustine, and even that is too low on some lawns.

Glenjr10 welcome to the site. There are a few other companies from your area and you might be able to contact them for some additional info. Best of luck to you.

I know what you mean it does seem too low, but I am just quoted what the scientific height recommendations are.
St. Aug 3"
Bermuda 2"
Centipede 2"

Most of mine are cut at 2.25" . Had one really nice St. Aug lawn that was cut at 3.75". 2.25 is the average but I go as low as 2"on some props.
