Just wondering if the Pave tech school is worth the time and money,Had a bad experience before with a tech school,just some imput from others that may have gone,Thanks

I am curious about this as well. I just did the icpi installer course, but don't have any hands on experience. Looks like this might be beneficial to me.



1) ELEVATIONS
A) Set up laser Level
B) Establish fixed elevations
C) Determine high and low elevations
D) Establish plot points
E) Calculate slope and elevation at plot points
F) Establish/mark for offsets

2) LAYOUT
A) Establish or locate Reference points
B) Set Off set stakes at plot points
C) Set strings to proper elevation
D) Determine Edge of Pavement
E) Determine Edge of Excavation

3) EXCAVATION
A) Remove growth and soils to proper depth

4) SUBGRADE COMPACTION
A) Compact existing subgrade

5) GEOTEXTILE FABRICS AND ROOT BARRIER
A) Install Geotextile woven fabric
B) Install Root Barriers

6) BASE CONSTRUCTION AND COMPACTION
A) Install Base material in proper lifts
B) Compact to proper density

7) GRADING
A) Complete final grade of base material

8) EDGE RESTRAINTS
A) Establish center Reference line
B) Install PAVE EDGE Rigid
C) Install PAVE EDGE Flex
D) Discuss Regional variations

9) SAND SCREEDING
A) Layout screed rails
B) Sand placement
C) Screed sand
D) Fill voids from screed rails
E) Discuss regional variations

10) LAYING PAVERS
A) Chalk reference lines
B) Lay pavers into design
C) Adjust bond lines

11) MARKING AND CUTTING
A) Marking pavers with a soldier course
B) Marking pavers without soldier course
C) Marking from a template
D) Marking curves
E) Cutting pavers with table top saw
F) Splitting Pavers

12) COMPACTING AND SETTING PAVERS
A) Paver compaction
B) Joint sand
C) Joint sand stabilization
D) Replace Broken or chipped pavers

Come to MD and for free I'll teach ya how to use safety handrails and safety railings! (see steps in photo) As well as covering the legalities in the paperwork for when the client refuses safety rails :)
