Would you buy a brand new never titled 2005 truck? What should you look out for with a truck that's been sitting on a dealers lot for 7 years?

Why in the hell did a truck sit for that long. I'd be worried about seals and bearings, maybe hoses as well. Rubber gets brittle. Grease gets hard. I bought a 03 z71 almost 2 years ago that had 15k on it. In that time I've had a lot of troubles that shouldn't come up in 35000 miles. Wheel bearing, universal joints, etc.

If it comes with a good warranty and cheap price then I would do it.

Was it a dealer demo or something? Did you find it around Raleigh?

In your situation, if the price is right, it might be prudent to get an extended warranty on that truck. Let us know how it turns out.

What's the story on why it sat there? That's dumb of a dealer to allow inventory of any kind sit there over 120 days.

The truck is in Asheville, NC. I'm going to call the dealership tomorrow to get the story on the truck and some info on the warranty situation. Here is a link to the truck for those of you that are curious about it.

It may be worth the trouble if the price is right.

I agree, at $35k I don't think it would be worth the gamble. I haven't talked to them yet though, so I'm hopeing they have some room to deal.

Try them REALLY low! If they say no - leave your number and walk out. I did that three years ago with a truck that sat on the lot for 23 months. They told me NO WAY!!!! One hour later I got it for half of the sticker price.

What did you find out about the truck?

Some news. I called the dealer today, and apparently they we're bought out by MHC Kenworth and those trucks listed are not in their inventory. The guy who answered the phone told me this dealer had been out of business for 3 years now. It's wierd because their website is still live and everything.
