Tablets? Smart Phones?

In a normal day I have 6 trucks going out to mow grass and landscape
Right now we use mappoint and of course print those routes out which with 25-30 stops a day equal 6-8 pages including the map cover page

I want to go paperless and was wondering does anyone use tablets or smartphones to export routes?
how do your guys do taking care of the device?
Have you seen any improvments over the other way?

I bought two Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablets, for using with Hindsite Software. We won't be using mappoint, but all they have to do is hit the NAV button on the particular customer, and it will pull up either Google Maps, or another map/GPS program to guide to the job.
