Parked my truck on Wendsday, put the dump body up about half way so the rain could drain out, went today to lower it and it is dead. Went up no problem, no odd noises or anything just went up as usual. Today the controller from inside the truck is completely dead, no up or down, when pressing the buttons there's no noise from motor for dump or anything. Checked all connections. Cleaned all nuts that hold wires on with wire brush and still nothing.

Any help and/or ideas as to what it could be are appreciated.
It's an ABC dump body, not pto driven, hydrolic fluid not leaking from it at all.

Thanks in advance!!!

We have had solinoids go up before and it would not let the body down.

Where would the solenoid be on the dump motor/fluid reservoir?

On my ford is on the pump motor but I have seen them on fire wall just flow the cable that comes out of battery:waving:

What am I looking for when following from battery?
Sorry all the questions, first time with a dump, first time with problems on the dump body.

It's an 03 f550 with an ABC dump if that makes a difference

If you have no up nor down I would think you blew the dump body fuse. Most likely it is a inline fuse on the positive wire from the battery to the electric motor for dump body. Good luck

Get you a test light. And start searching for power. Somewhere you have lost a connection or bad relay.

Any chance there is a kill switch located beside the seat that some one may have turned?

First off, I hope you roll your eyes at this but when you're working under that bed MAKE SURE you have it supported so it doesn't come flying down on top of you if you should accidentally hit something! With that secure, make follow the electrical connections from one end to the next. Check for power at every connection. When doing this make sure you have a good ground for the test light.

Tracked it down the other day, finally figured it out. Where the wire from battery goes into "master switch" under driver seat/drive door the wire corroded away completely, came off when touched. Going to rewire it in next day or so but curious if I can use one wire direct from battery to dump motor directly and by pass the master switch since I have never used it and the switch is completely rusted/corroded from the weather.

Please make sure you wedge something under the body when working on it.

Good luck.

I have the "safety prop" pole holding it up as well as a 6x6 wedged on each side bc I don't trust the safety pole

Nice job figuring it out and on the safety!

Is it possible to wire dump motor directly from battery, one heavy gauge wire direct?

How can you wire it direct? You need to switch for up/down? What am I missing?

The existing wiring now goes from battery to master kill switch under driver seat, from there to dump motor. Controller is wired into/out of motor. Have pics of set up but don't know how to upload using an iPad
