Spring is coming... tips for getting ready?

I last touched my new WB in November when I drained the oil and gas and put in new 10w30 automotive oil for the winter. Already has sharp blades and very low hours (3) on the spark plugs, airfilter etc.

Is there anything I should do before I pull the cord to ease the transition from storage to active mower? Like slowly pulling the cord to get the oil spread around the engine, or turning it over without the ignition on, or dumping the 10w30 and getting straight 30SAE oil?

Sounds like your good to go. The 10w30 is fine, unless your machine has specific guidlines on what to use. Some of the newrer machines use different types of oil, check your manual. As far as a pre start routine, just grip it and rip it. Once the piston starts to move, oil is being pulled through the system. :D
