View Full Version : Wife Insists I buy this...
Just like my Brown Bed Edger, my wife insisted that I buy this Grasshopper snowthrower. She had to tell me three times before I gave in. Itsa 2000 model, used less than, one hour-mint no scratches.
Here's a picture of it mounted.

I agree with your wife Bob. Small drives were a pain in the past storm. A whole lotta snow and no place to put it. Have you tried it out yet? If so, how does it do on power (compared to the mowing deck)

Man she is wickedly cruel!!!! How fast can you switch over to the blade if needed (I remember seeing a pic of it mounted)? Good lookin' setup. I like's! I'd like a snowthrower for my Scag or Wheel Horse after that last snow which was so wet and heavy. The plow is faster for dry stuff though.

BHB Scag sold a snowblower for fixed deck wb's up until at least '99, maybe there are some out there still. I'd buy one for mine if I came across a good deal

KLC99, yea but I dont' make that much money off of snow removal and we don't usually get enought to justify one.

Bob
How much did you pick that unit up for? Looks like a real impressive machine...im envious.
Im going to my dealer's open house in 2 weeks and someone said that they were most likely going to have the snowblower attatchment on the Walker....im looking forward to see how that performs.

Grasshopper also makes a nice brush system for that machine which is great for sidewalks.

GrassHopper has a lot of nice attachments for those front mowers. Pretty versital machine if you ask me. I've got a catalog with all the good attachments in it if you would like me to send her one. But then you'd be broke
:D :D :D
BTW, do you mow with those tires on?

I have the same machine, and the same tires. They are great for spring when mowing through soggy areas. Well, as far as not getting the machine stuck they are good. They are a bit agressive, and if you dont watch it you will start to develop bare spots in turn area, and around trees. As soon as it gets dry enough, its good to change to less agressive tire.

I contract around 70+ driveways and a parking lot for the winter months.
Since there's a lot of farming where I'm from, you see a lot of tractors and snowblowers.

Bob & GraZZmaZter,
Thanks for the replies. I was curious about the tires. I came very close to buying a 618 GrassHopper a while back. I found what I thought was a good deal in one. $6,400 with the 52" flip up deck and dual tail wheels. It also had those tires.
But utimately I decided to pass. First I really didn't care for the dealer. Plus they were closing out the floor inventory. they plan to remain a dealer and keep parts. But new mowers will be special order only. Also I wasn't to sure about 18hp on a 52" deck.
I might have made a mistake in passing. Only time will tell I guess.
