Tractor pulled. Has two rows of pulverizer rollers and a seeder box. VERY expensive for what is there. Do you use these on bare dirt conditions only to final prep and seed or do you use on existing thin turf to break up the surface and overseed? It does a nice job prepping bare dirt after grading. Thanks.

I used to have one, it did a good job overseeding existing lawns. You need to go over the ground a few times with no seed in it to prepare the seedbed properly. However, when we used it to prep bare dirt and even after blowing straw on the seedbed it seemed the seed would settle in the holes punched by the spikes. The grass would then come up in clumps where each hole had been punched. They run about $3700 new here, but a friend of mine bought one at a rental store auction for $800.
