any suggestions on equipment for residential cuts for a new company

I would recommend to start out small pick up a new or used walk behind. Always remember don't spread yourself to thin.

I agree to start out small and buy quality equipment as needed. Ive been in bus. since 95 and am going on my third season full time. I have a 44" wb a 21" trim mower and an edger, trimmer, blower and hedge clippers.All mowers are Toro and hand helds are echo and have never regretted spending the money for either. I would like to buy a ztr or a Walker GHS in the near future but have to say wb's are great for cost vs. profit when starting out. Ive tried to keep my overhead as low as possible and it's worked out well so far.

A good WB (hydro) preferable. Get something in the 48" - 60" size with a velke.

Decent trimmer and backpack blower too.
