I am looking for a slightly used exmark and I might have found one. The problem is it has a 60in. deck. I was originally wanting a 52in. deck. I mow mostly residential half-acre lots. Next year I am going to go after bigger yards and appartments, but still maintaining the smaller yards. Do any of you guys use your 60" on smaller yards. If so, how is the cut quality? That is my major concern. Hopefully I am going to demo one Saturday, but I would like to have your input also.

Thanks

How are the lawns like, hill and bump-wise? The wider the deck the more it will straddle imperfections in the lawn, sometimes to the point that, unless you re-cut in small strips, it will look like you missed a whole area. If the lawns are perfectly flat it will look good with a 600 inch deck.

Go with the 60" deck. In my book ,"The bigger the better".

We mow several small areas 6,000 sq - 1 acre with a 60 " Lazer. Cut is great! Go with the big deck you won't be sorry.

go with the 60 and you will learn how to work those pain spots and it is a lot faster

How are they on hills? I have a good many hills. What about ditches? Does the deck dig in on one side? How many blades does a 60" have?

Thanks for all your posts

Go with the 60". I rarely get my 52" walk behind off the trailer now. As for hills, the Exmark Lazer Z will go places where you will run out of testes WAY before the machine will give up. Just be aware that they can run away if you head downhill on too much slope. Back down if you have to go there and when you turn on a cross slope, swing the machine UP the hill, then back down and swing back into your next stripe. Keep the rear wheels on the downhill end of the machine when it gets really steep.

On an Exmark Z, there is NO advantage of 52" over a 60".

We cut 3,000 sq. ft. lawns with them.
