I was looking at online newspapers in KC area and in the Lees Summit paper had the following ad
"TO BE SOLD after July 14, 2006 Lee's Summit Mini Storage in Lee's Summit, MO. All Items belonging to All Pro Grounds, units 918, 915, 917, 916 which are in storage at Lee's Summit Mini Storage, 24610 East Hwy 50, Lee's Summit MO 64063. Owner has the right to refuse bid."
Not sure if that is a threat to get the lawn company to pay the rent or they actually will sell items from the units.

If All Pro Grounds owned it, I wouldn't want it. Most of their stuff looks like it is pretty beat up.

Not sure why they just don't rent a good size building to hold all their equipment. The must not be a big company or they would have their rent a building.

Wow didn't know it was that close. In the KC metro area it takes some people an hour to drive to work so I guess you are not that far. I just counted over 30 LCO in an old 2001 Blue Springs/Lee's Summit yellow pages. Maybe 3 times that many don't advertise who are full time/part-time.
Seems no matter where your at always lots of lawn businesses since it is so easy to get into. Lots of fertilizer/weed control business too.

Car accident in Overland Park involving a lawn truck
September 14, 2006
OVERLAND PARK, Mo. – A mother and toddler heading to an elementary school hit a parked lawn-care truck, Thursday.
Police said the woman and 4-year-old were driving eastbound on 123rd Street, just before Lamar, when she hit the parked lawn-care truck. Her vehicle went up the flat bed of the truck, and rolled off onto its side.
The woman had to be cut from her car.
Authorities said the child was riding in a car seat and was unhurt, but the mother suffered a broken arm and minor injuries.
Police said she was not speeding.
The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. at 123rd and Walmer in Overland Park.

I do sub out my chemicals and tree work.
Hazell, I was just getting together some stuff for advertising. Ive learned its never to early to start! Ive tried postcards in the past from VistaPrint and they do fairly well. Im thinking of trying door hangers this year. I also just placed my first ad in Yellow Book and Im looking forward to some good results.

I dont. This was about 2 years ago that I spoke with her. If you contact the human relations DEPT they can tell you though. Other gas stations like BP are all independently owned so if you go in to each one you can just talk to the owners and they will tell you what to do.

I only take care of 2 commercial lots right now. A church and a drycleaner. The church came from a direct mailer and the drycleaners is because its owned by one of my customers. I have another very small one in the works due to some interaction from my wife and her job with a guy who owns the building. Ive come to find that most commercials are picked up through existing residential customers usually who own the building or work for them. Its just to damn hard to go out and pick them up on your own.

carcrz
12-17-2006, 12:01 AM
He's just doing trees for now. I stopped over & talked to him the other day. Poor guy sunk his dually in that mud & then just about had his loader stuck. I'm guessing that next spring he will be into selling the rock, mulch, topsoil, & probably some larger trees. It'll probably depend on where the highway's going to go though. I know I lost 4 Black Walnuts on Thursday & will be losing my circle drive too when they start up.
Travel'n Trees

We are in the process of what he said, but we constantly are doing trees and Topsoil, if you need some call if you need some rock we don't have our scale yet, we do all sizes of trees we 20 2" trees for a landscaper in Olathe and a 2/3's of a semi load of trees for another one in K.C. and 200 for another landscaper this week if weather permits. I always try to bring extras back just usually run them to jobs right now instead.

Wanna buy it? I need to get the radio working again. I took out my amps & I think the wiring harness is bad or something because there isn't any sound going out w/o using the pre-outs. It was one of those deals where I started working on it & then got burned out. It runs good, but I didn't renew the tags on it because I always drive the Dodge now. I need to work on it, maybe that's what I'll do today.

Anyone know of any 3 - 5 acre lots for sale? I was going to purchase my dad's house over on 150 since he just got married & will be living in her home until her daughter is done w/ school, but he is starting to give us the impression that he doesn't really want to sell it. I kind of want to stay on this side of town (150 hwy area), but not so far out that I have to drive forever. I found some 3 acre tracts on Hubach Hill Rd, but haven't committed yet. My dad's is kind of a central location for all of my customers & that's why I am kinda trying to find something close by. 10 miles is fine, but I really would like something close to a main/higher speed limit road so I can hit the highway easy. I hate back roads w/ a loaded trailer.

When I sold that F250 to James, I had to sell my Buyers sperader because the Dodge is a shorty. That buyers was a tank for spreading bulk stuff. I'm thinking I might be putting on a dump bed or an insert so I can buy some bulk stuff on the next go around & I definitely don't want to shovel it out if I don't use it all up.

I never saw so many guys running around with their plows on today WITHOUT ballast in my life. One really stood out, a white crew cab chevy 2500 hd with a blizzard 810 with 2 feet of rear fender well gap and the front wheels tucked up inside the wells. Bout the same with a white dodge and a meyer V. Ridiculous!

I plowed the first go around w/o anything in the back. It was just snow so it pushed pretty easy as long as I kept up w/ it. Plus when I am making big passes it is easier to see w/ nothing in the back. But, I was pushing @ night so I had to go back in the morning to put down the deicer anyways.

Where are you guys buying your "salt" and sand?
If youre looking for bulk for your spreader try Holiday Sand on 47th and K-7. You can go and get it or they deliver.

Yeah expcept for the 4 wheeler it is a auto I mainly use it for snow been rode 3 other times in last year. It isn't shifting. 3 more salt spreaders broke just couldn't bring myself to use the new lesco I got Friday. I will only use it for salt but I am having a hard time using it. And someone stole a crew from me for $28 a hour at 4 o'clock and I have been kicking him alot of work lately, and last two snows, I kept him and his crew busy.

I think they're just saying fluries for the next day or so. On one hand I hope they're right, on the other I hope they way underestimated it. I heard something about more this next weekend. Is this the trend for our winter? They're going to start calling it "Snowy Saturday" and "Salty Sunday"

I think I know which apts you are talking about. I had a buddy who's Dad used to live in there a while back . I bought an old stone farmhouse just west of Tomahawk Golf Course. Started to renovate it back in November. I finally finished up most of the first story so its time to move in.

I havent been out there since it changed. In fact its been years since Ive been to a strip bar. Maybe Im cheap but I cant justify paying women to take their clothes off when I can get it for free. ;)
