All my work is volunteer...

J/K

My yards are growing like crazy. My fert company put the first round down 3 weeks ago and all the rain we have had made the grass shoot up. Ive been double cutting and bagging yards all the time. With the freezes it will slow it down enough so I dont have to do that but they will still grow enough to have me cut them.

meh...just my experience that most people who put reserves on things on Ebay seem to have a higher opinion of their product then the people who are looking to buy it. Sometimes it doesnt always work out. I dont like doing it because I think its a waste of time to bid on reserves. If it doesnt meet it the selller has every right not to sell it and start it over and its a waste of time for the buyer.

I understand that. My point is most people dont care about that though. They go on Ebay looking for deals. If its new why dont you just return it and get a full refund?

You will be losing money on the amount you paid for it, then you have to pay ebay. Just take it back to the dealer.

vaughnslawns

I have a couple of questions. First is what is an average price to install sprinkler systems in town per zone? My second question is what would you charge to move 2 white pines about 15 feet tall? The pines will be moved only about 20 back from the road since they are putting a new road in, the homeowners don't want to lose them. Any info would be greatly welcomed.

Well guys, I hate to say this, as I am also starting to fall behind due to the weather. I just checked the NOAA forecast discussion - where all the local weather people check before making thaie forecasts- and they are saying that 1. The weather system in place now is going to be here until wed or thur and 2. There is a pretty good chance that we will see some historic creek and river levels. We could get this everyday until thur! So far today only as of right now, I have almost 3 inches in the rain stick. This could get pretty ugly. The link:

all my yards still have standing water...mowed the border before I realized it...hopefully dried out by tomorrow.

So here's my dilemma...I need to know if anyone on here services an address in the Gladstone area...don't know if I can post addresses so I won't post the number...he's on 67th Terr.

I entered into a verbal agreement with this homeowner for weekly service (only serviced 3 times). I unload my equipment today and a neighbor tells me that the homeowner doesn't want their yard mowed and points to a note on the door which states "DO NOT MOW". The nieghbor then tells me that the homeowner doesn't understand why their yard is being mowed twice a week (it's a crappy yard so it's hard to tell from week to week) because they did not sign a contract with anyone.

My point in finding out who the other LCO is that I can let them know that they will most likely be screwed as well. I'm out $120 as of now, I know he won't pay it.

For those that do not have contracts with their customers, what recourse do I have? I left a note asking them to call me asap. This is the third customer in that past week I have lost. I'm down to hobby stage!!!

Hey guys, I haven't been here in a while, and it seems that theres a new group of guys on here, so I'll re-introduce myself... I am based out of Kingsville MO, and do most of my work in Lee's Summit. We mow some, but mainly do tree work. If you have any removals, sub them my way... We have aerial equipment, chippers, climbers, experience, etc.

Also, I have a 10' brush hog, and need some more work for it to earn it's keep. If you guys are getting any one asking for bh work, let me know - we can boh make $$ on it.

ALSO, I have some equip. for sale. LOTS of snow stuff. Several beaters with heaters and plows, a new pull plow, a tailgate spreader, a 95 f350 diesel dually flatbed with western, and so on.

Also have an 02 f350 dually, lariat, 4x4, diesel, auto, crewcab, red, she's got some miles, but it's a problem free truck. $17500.

thanks,
greg

We are thinking of moving to Olathe or Overland Park. I have contacted both cities and both say no trailers or equipment can be stored at the house at all. What do you guys do with it? Storage building? Or just keep the garage door closed and hope the neighbors don't say anything? Here I just back the truck and trailer in my driveway and don't think a thing about it. City planner is across the street and we talk all the time and not a word have ever been said. I do his dtich he can't get to for free every week so maybe that helps:laugh: . I would like to get an enclosed trailer but kind of on hold until I see if the thing has to be small enough to fit into a garage door. We just have open trailers right now but don't see how I could get an enclosed as height would sure be a concern. Olathe the only close dump? Looks like it is 75.00 min. fee to dump? You can have a trailer in Overland Park but it has to be parked on the side of the house or in the back. I lived there for 5 years so I got accustomed to the laws pretty quickly.

Actually in Overland park you cannot keep a commercial trailer at your property at all. If you are using your trailer to cut grass it is a commercial trailer.

Olathe is the best dump to use for non-yard waste materail and is a $50 minimum. For yard waste, Suburban takes it and so does Marrs Yard Waste Recycling.

The best bet for storing your trailer is find a nearby lot you can buys ome space at or even rent a parking spot at a public storage lot.

Thats not what the people from the city told me. They came out because of a complaint and the guy told me either it goes in the garage or on the side or back of the house. I showed him my business permit and he didnt say anything about it.

Selling my ramps. They have been used for the last year to load my Commercial Walk Behind Mower in my truck. They have some scratches and dents in them but nothing that will affect how they work

Heavy duty composite technology delivers a superior 750 lb. capacity per ramp, 1500 lb. total for a set! Telescopes from 66" to 96" and can be used at lengths in between as well so it can adjust to your loading needs. These dual ramps work great for loading ATV's, tractors, small motorcycles and more. When fully telescoped down these ramps are under 6 inches thick so finding a convenient place to store them like under your ATV. Because they are not steel or aluminum they are much easier to handle on extremely hot and cold days and will never rust or corrode.

Features:

Rustproof for lifetime performance
Impervious to gas and oil
1 inch raised edge keeps tires on ramp
TRAControl non-slip surface for extra traction
Arched design for additional clearance
No hinge point - eliminates any chance of pinching fingers
750 lb. capacity per runner

Pick Up Only or will deliver in the Kansas City area for $10

We have two and like them........ but as long as I'm on a hydro I'm happy. I've actually been thinking of getting rid of the 3 Encores for more standers.

You might try Blue Valley Tractor Supply, they sell alot of used trade-ins at the end of the season. I think they are lease trade offs.

How many hours have you guys put on yours? I have a buddy trying to sell me a 52" Wright with a 23hp. Kawasaki, but it has 1500 hours. What is a good price range for this machine and after 1500 hours is it reliable?

Pick Up Only or will deliver in the Kansas City area for $10
Price Reduced. Will sell for $80.

These machines are really top of the line, at 1500 hours I still beleive you would be able to get a great deal of time out of the machine.

I need to find somewhere in KC to get bulk rubber mulch, I've had several people ask for it and getting it in bags from Home depot is too expensive. Any numbers?

I had a job last year. It was a customer that has a farm house and was putting in a play area for the grandkids. They wanted rubber mulch. It was a bad mistake on my part. I looked hig and low in town for bulk rubber mulch. No one had it nor did they want to get it if I I payed full retail and any shipping. So I got on this thing they call the internet and and did some searching. I found a few places within 300 miles of KC that had it in bulk. After doing some calling around this is what I came across. I had to buy it by the ton. There was 2 ton min. per order. And to have it delivered was 800.00. Luckily my customer is in the trucking business and we did not have to pay the delivery. From what I remember I saved less than 10 per yard and. When buying in bulk it comes in either a sling or in a big ass box on a crate by the ton. It was a huge headache and mistake. If I was to get it bagged from them I only was going to save .12 per bag. Stay away from the stuff or charhge heavily for it. Also better hope it stays around. It gets hard to find in stores later in the year. Good luck and let mw know what you find.

Ive been putting down tons of the java brown and for the love of God stay away from Suburban. They are running a racket. I get my mulch from Johnson County Building Materials down in Merriam. About 12 - 15 dollars cheaper then Suburban.
