Just in case any of you are wondering...here is an email I sent to Don Harman from FOX4 this morning followed by his response.
Don, whats up? I wanted to get your opinion on the month of January. I have
heard and seen on different sites that we are going to have way above average
temps for the month of January. What do you think about this. Some sites
(accuweather.com) even have the first part in the upper 40s and low 50s? Do you
think we will get a break from the snow and cold temps? Thanks for the insight!

Very likely we will see some 50's- even by the end of next week.

I use both. About once a month (or on new accounts) I'll use the stick edger to clean up an edge. I'll also use a wb edger about 3 times a year to put a really wide edge on the long commercial walks. I put 3 blades on it so it has about a 1/2" edge on it & I don't have to do anything for a month or so.

Suburban has to be the biggest. They have some of the most prime land around town too, Very few people know how big they really are. Hermes may have grossed alot, But there was alot of concern at trade show about them. Remember they folded in Colorado and Utah I believe. Two other wholesalers are in trouble, locally. Currently I have declined and continue my decline of work for Hermes because of what I know about them. And I do not want to work for free, and won't risk it.

I bag one yard on a weekly basis. Its my biggest account and thats the only reason. Its a little more then an acre and she pays $100 a week. Other then that if someone wants its bagged weekly Ill double the price and that usually makes them change their mind rather quickly

Don't try to take it to the Lee's Summit dump. They don't let anyone dump for free. The only free thing you get it a good @$#@ing they are ripoffs. You can take a load of brush in one day that cost 35.00 the next day you take in less and it's 95.00. They know there isn't any where else to dump close by so you are at their mersy.

It was a smaller ad. Probably about 2 inches wide by about a 1 inch tall. Now I have an ad thats 2 1/4 X 2 1/4. Its right in the middle of the page and its one of only 2 block ads on that page. Its in the Johnson County which just came out and then I have an ad coming out in the metro at the end of this year for the 2009 book. In all I will be spending around $1500.

Hi Everyone,
I currently have a 2006 John Deere 1600 Turbo Series II WAM for sale. We bought the mower new in 2006 and currently it has 568.5 hours, it is equipped with a 4 post ROPS system with canopy, seat belt and suspension seat. It is a 4WD unit, all deck tires have been replaced with Carlisle Reliance run-flat tires to prevent any low or flat tires. The mower also has a am/fm cassette radio installed behind operators seat.
It is currently equipped with doubles, 14 blades in total, 7 gator blades and 7 high lift. It also comes with several extra sets of blades including some gator blades and most of the original tires, actual number can be determined if need be or requested. All lights, gauges and indicator lights work great. The machine has been excellently maintained, have maintenance records. We are currently taking reasonable offers and plan to re list the mower on Ebay sometime over the weekend.
The mower is located 20-30 miles north outside of Kansas City. It is available for viewing and demonstration with proper notification. Pictures are available having a hard time resizing them, if you have any questions or for pictures please contact me through this site or email me at dcken02@aol.com and give me your email address and I will forward them to you.
Thank You,
Dillon

Where do you guys buy mulch in Johnson County?
Johnson County Building Materials in Merriam. Its off of Johnson Drive and Merriam Lane.
It's about $15.00 a cubic yard cheaper then Suburban.

Hey, had a question about late fee penalties. I haven't charged one the last few years, but I need to give a select few of my customers a little more incentive to pay in a reasonable amount of time. My current thoughts are 2.5% a month and I would give them 20 days from the invoice date to get the money to me before they were charged.
I have searched through Kansas bills and statutes and haven't found any info on the legality of late fees, so if anyone knows anything about Kansas laws on the issue, I would appreciate your help (I know some states have a max amt. for certain services and such).
I really don't expect to make any money off of this, just hoping to get paid in a more timely fashion with less hassle.
Also, on another subject... has anyone seen the prices for some of the big boys on fert plans this year (I remember last year trugreen and scotts were somewhere around 56 bucks per app for 6000 sq.ft.). Imagine this will jump by 10 or so due to the increased cost of Urea... I'll be meeting with my supplier tomorrow so should have an idea what I want to charge, but I wouldn't want to be too high in comparison to the major market players. They tend to have just a bit more marketing prowess than myself.
Thanks for any help up front,
Nick

For some reason I dont think that legally you can assess late fees. Finance or office fees on the other hand are ok. I think its all in the wording.
I dont talk to TG or Scotts for obvious reasons but I can tell you that Ryan Lawn & Tree jumped 4% this year.

If they've signed a contract and it states that late fees might be applied then it's legal.

I'm quoting a guy today on a huge apartment complex near the corner of 435 and 71. How much do you guys charge an hour for labor? I was thinking $55 or $60 from what I've read on this, but part of me thinks it might be too much?
