For the most part, commercial properties want contracts done at the first of the year. I've learned that already even though I have somewhat limited experience. You can get a pretty good start on bid forms by buying the ones in the lawnsite store. I did & they gave me good perspective for what I already had on paper. Use the search engine here too. The lawnsite archives are filled with great input from lots of pros.

Ok guys here is one of my thoughts and I'd like to get your feedback. What we would like to do is set up our landscaping business on the "siding business, business model". That is to say we do the marketing, sales and all the financial stuff. We then have a "stable" of qualified and quality oriented subs to do the install. You would get paid by the job. We would supply all the materials etc in one location so that your time would be spent on doing the work instead of running all over town to pick up a little of this and a little of that. We could schedule the jobs to fit your schedule. At the heart of it you would remain your own boss and all of the marketing and advertising cost would be spread out over a larger base. And all of the financial stuff would be handles by us. Does this have any appeal?

Hi all from NC. I have been very small time last two years and now trying to grow a little. Been looking at lawnsite for about 6 month now WOW what a great resource. Thanks to all of you for posting such great tips and advice for us new guys to absorb. Lakeside are you still out there, I know this was started almost 1 year ago. I am also in Mooresville. I like this area and think there is lots of opportunity to grow. Any advice on suppliers or such in Lake Norman area. Thanks

KerryB

With overseeding with Per. Rye I cut all but Feb. and March. Unless the weather is nice. Fall cleanups? It depends. Since most of my clients are on year round contracts its just a weekly thing for me.

After reviewing a bunch of posts I ran across this thread and I agree. Understand please that it will be nothing to compete with anything Lawnsite is doing but a talk board for local NC guys. There already is one for NC call ****************.com I do not publicize it on lawnsite because of gentleman's agreement I have with Sean the owner of lawnsite. We had problems with the server in the fall and it will be back up and at full speed by green and grow in Greensboro. This site is for NC LCO's and has a link to lawnsite. When the site went down the frist time we lost all our menbers. But like I said this is a NC site lawnsite is a enternational site. There are a lot of other sites out there but why drive a copy of a BMW when you can drive the real thing.

Wanted to ask you where is your furniture district. Is it in just one centralized location or it's spread out all over the state?
